Technology and heritage go hand in hand

In Italy, towns choose IEM to reinvent parking

Against a backdrop of accelerating urban transformation, more and more Italian cities are turning to IEM to modernise their parking infrastructure. What do they have in common? A clear desire to offer a smoother, more connected service, focused on the real needs of citizens.

Brescia, Syracuse: These cities have chosen to make parking a driver for change

Every city has its own solution.

In both Brescia and Syracuse, the journey began with dialogue. Mayors, technicians, local operators: IEM Italy took on the role of advisor, studying expectations and critical issues in daily management. Providing tools tailored to the specific characteristics of each area and offering tailor-made support: this close collaboration is what truly makes the difference in the field.

Brescia: when technology and heritage go hand in hand.

A city with a strong historical identity and resolutely focused on the future, Brescia wanted to move on from an outdated system. Thanks to IEM, it now has intelligent parking meters integrated with its Smart City server. A key innovation has been the direct integration of residents’ cards into the digital platform.

Brescia and Syracuse choose IEM to reinvent parking

Syracuse: modernisation serving citizens.

In this gem of Sicily, the challenge was quite different: to digitise the entire parking process, including subscription management. Thanks to the ‘Muoviamoci Siracusa’ platform, residents can now carry out their parking-related formalities independently, directly online.

Less stress, more mobility.

What are the benefits for the city? Better accessibility, a much-improved parking experience for residents, and optimised vehicle turnover. For operators, it means more accurate and reliable real-time monitoring.

These projects demonstrate how intelligent parking management can significantly enhance traffic flow in city centres by delivering tangible results for urban mobility.

Migrating old systems, integrating secure payments or local specificities into existing structures: these are all challenges met methodically thanks to solid expertise and close collaboration with municipal teams.

Modernising parking to rethink the city.

Brescia and Syracuse are showing the way: well-managed parking contributes to a smoother, more liveable and sustainable city.

They are tangible examples of IEM’s unique approach: all the experience of a designer and manufacturer of its solutions with listening, innovation, and proximity at their core.

With IEM, innovation truly serves people and local authorities.
