The Swiss cities know well the IEM’s parking on-street equipments.  Indeed, more 10 000 parking meters are installed on the Helvetian territory, the first machines of which were put into service in the 90s. Today, IEM takes a turning point by integrating completely the sales and the distribution into Switzerland of its own products and services.

An own distribution network

Since July 1st, 2016, IEM is the direct interlocutor of the Swiss cities for the integration of intelligent solutions for the parking on-street. Expert in this domain for more than 25 years, IEM designs and makes innovative parking meters specially conceived for the Swiss market with the management of the parking on-street by place. The parking meter TOM, renamed Presto 2008, is made in the manufacturing shop of the company implanted near Geneva.

Today, a team is in charge specially of the Swiss cities, at the same time for the communities already equipped with parking meters and pay and display machines IEM (Presto 2008, Presto 600, Presto 620) and the new cities customers. It will thus be the single interlocutor who will take care of the commercial relation for the implementation and of the maintenance of IEM equipments (parking meters and sensors of detection) as well as dematerialized solutions.

With its partner Taxomex, IEM wins the Genevan contract with the replacement of 210 pay and display machines the first works of which begin this summer.

The city of Geneva decided to begin the replacement of its park of ageing and consequently expensive parking meters expenses of maintenance, and also obsolete facing the last devices equipped with modern means of payment as the credit card.
The city plans the total renewal of its park of pay and displ ay machies before 2019, with a first installation of 70 devices IEM this summer. The company took away successfully the technical tests and the users realized by the city, particulary on the speed of execution of the transactions and the printing of tickets.

IEM will so replace 210 parking meters fed by solar energy on 411 machines which takes place in the Genevan park. The users can settle their parking fee on the quite last generation of parking meter IEM, presto Interactive equipped of a touch-sensitive screen and the last means of payment. A reader of credit card with contact is joined, as well as a reader NFC for an ultra fast payment with a credit card without contact or a cell phone via the Tapit application.

Since mid-April, the residents and the visitors of the city of Marseille can settle their on-street parking fee directly on their cell phone, with TIMO a solution developed by IEM.

It is under the name TIMO that Presto App settles down in the second city of France, Marseille, in partnership with SAGS, administrator of the on-street parking of the city. The mobile solution covers 15 000 paying parking places, on two tariff zones.

After a launch in the city of Annemasse in 2013, new features are offered to the users. On one hand to the residents allowing them to pay their ticket without moving from home, and on the other hand to companies with the service « management of car fleet » including on only one account all the transactions of their employees.

IEM knew how to integrate specificities connected to users’ various profiles to propose a complete and unique service.

By offering since this summer the payment by SMS (for the customers Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR), IEM shows again its will to offer the TIMO service to an even wider public, particulary the people equipped with smartphone, and also the tourists visiting the city because the payment by text requires no registration. A simple one text with its license plate will be enough to start a parking ticket and the second by sending “FIN” to end it. The payment operates directly on the phone bill of the user.
IEM joined Netsize, a Gemalto Company for the management of the text transactions with three main telephone operators on the French market.

Through its distributor Taxomex, IEM is delighted with the setting-up of 210 machines soon in the parking P+R of the CFF ( Swiss Federal Railroads).

With the aim of an ageing park and high maintenance costs, the CFF launches in spring of 2014 a call for tenders for the replacement of 210 machines on its 719 machines. It is the Taxomex company, a leader of the Swiss market of pay and display machines and a partner of IEM for more than 20 years, that wins this contract.

The robustness and the reliability of Presto 600T, declension of the Presto Europa for the Swiss market, as well as the quality of the customer services of Taxomex convinced the committee of the CFF for the choice of their new equipment.

The users of parking P+R will have from now on the possibility of using modern means of payment besides coins, only alternative today. Pay and display machine Presto 600T soon delivered will accept the credit/debit cards why not in the future the cards of public transport.
With a fast payment and an easy use of the parking meter, the travelers will so save time and in serenity to take their train on time.

Besides the renewal of their park, the CFF decided to equip themselves with an IEM centralization to follow the activity of all pay and display machines implanted on all the Swiss territory, to follow the maintenance of its equipments and the sale of parking tickets.

An inevitable moment for all the actors of the parking market, the exhibition Parkopolis is the opportunity  for IEM to present its last innovations, with this year the global solution Presto Park answering the implementation of the « forfait post stationnement ».

2 650 visitors covered the exhbition, some with precise projects of investment, others in search of answers to their problem or out of pure curiosity. In the case of projects of renewal or extension of parks of pay and display machines, the need to equip itself with the credit card confirms again. So, the interest for the touch-sensitive screen also is felt. Our last model, the presto Interactive meets all these features and met certain craze by the representatives of cities.

However, we were able to notice that the main concern of our visitors was the implementation of the decriminalization of the parking. Subject at the heart of our priorities, IEM presented on this occasion its global solution Presto Park who integrates all the stages of the on-street parking, from the detection of a vehicle on a parking space to the allocation of the « forfait post stationnement » and to its payment by the user. This last innovation integrates several technologies :

– Sensors of detection of vehicle
– Pay points : pay and display machines and/or mobile payment
– The centralization of the data and the transactions

– The control system
– The management of the « forfait post stationnement »

Connected services for all users’ profiles: hourly users, subscribers and companies

Presto Park is a set of several on-line services available for drivers (according to the range of services of their city):

The virtual ticket: without additional cost, the hourly user or the subscriber can buy directly his parking ticket on his smartphone. He can adjust its duration according to his needs and pay only the parked time (except for the subscriptions). Besides an hourly ticket except (off) zone, the subscriber can buy his long-lasting ticket. Once his specific status is recognized, his preferential price is automatically applied.

– The electronic office: no need to move for the subscriber, he can follow from now on his procedures of request or renewal of specific status directly on the website of Presto Park.

– The smart guidance: for cities equipped with the sensors Presto Sense, the drivers can consult in real time the free parking zones and use the geo-localization of their smartphone to be guided towards the available parking places.

– The post-parking fixed amount: in anticipation of the decriminalization of the on-street parking in France, IEM offers to cities the possibility of managing the paiement of the post-parking fixed amount directly on-line. Without preliminary registration, the user pays his post-ticket via his smartphone directly from his car.

Attentive to the needs for companies, IEM facilitates the management of the on-street parking tickets of companies by grouping on the same account all the transactions of the employees. The management service of fleet of Presto Park is set up easily and quickly, by a simple registration of a supervisor account and the recording of the employees using the on-street parking for their professionnal trips.

Inevitable meeting for the actors of the urban mobility, the exhibition Intertraffic in Amsterdam is a key moment to discover the last innovations of the sector strongly centred on the « smart city » concept. The stand of IEM met again a striking success thanks to its novelties both on the equipments and on the connected solutions.

Always presents on the IEM stand, the pay and display machine Presto Europa and Presto Interactif with touch screen attracts the visitors by their elegant and discreet design. Their demonstration from the point of view of the drivers and of the operator of maintenance seduces by the simplicity and the speed of use. The real time communication with the centralization allows a reactive and effective management of the park of machines and the activity of on-street parking.

The exhibition Intertraffic also was the opportunity to put forward the Presto Sense, put in production in the city of Annemasse since June, 2015, and prize-winner of the competition Win&Boost (Cleantech Geneva). This innovation « smart parking » allows to see in real time the availability of the on-street parking of a city thanks to sensors of high detection installedon parking places. This supervision offers numerous advantages to communities, as traffic control with the guidance via smartphone for the drivers or still analysis of the turnover of cars.

Finally, IEM presented exclusively its new brand Presto Park, mobile solution for all the users of the on-street parking that they are hourly users or subscribers. Presto Park is an unique portal and multi-cities to pay its parking ticket at distance (mobile app and internet) or still obtain its preferential right (subscription of short and long-lasting) via the electronic office.
